Broadway Returns to Hanson

Jerry's Songs: A Musical Tribute to Jerry HermanYou are cordially invited to attend a performance of A Musical Tribute to Jerry Herman at the Hanson Public Library on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.  Vocalist Stephanie Miele, accompanied by Alice Carey on piano and John Wall on bass, will perform Broadway songs by composer and lyrist Jerry Herman.

After his first successful musical Milk and Honey in 1961,  Jerry Herman wrote in quick succession three hugely successful Broadway musicals:  Hello Dolly, Mame, La Cage Aux Folles. These mega-successful shows earned Herman the distinction of being the only composer/lyrist in history to have three blockbuster musicals run more than 1500 consecutive performances on Broadway.  In addition to earning Tony Awards for both  Hello Dolly and La Cage aux Folles, Herman received the Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre in 2009

Step into the magical, musical world of Jerry Herman and enjoy selections from this master of musical theatre.
