Start off the New Year with an informative and entertaining event at the Hanson Public Library: ArtMatters: Georgia O’Keeffe.

On Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:30 p.m., The Hanson Public Library Foundation is pleased to sponsor ArtMatters: Georgia O’Keeffe. This presentation will explore O’Keeffe’s art and her personal conflicts during an era of great cultural change. Many reproductions of O’Keeffe’s artwork will be displayed as part of the presentation.

Georgia O’Keeffe is one of the most significant and intriguing artists of the 20th century, internationally known for her innovative art. O’Keeffe was a pioneer of abstraction and influenced the male-dominated culture of New York City in the beginnings of the “Modern Century”. In a career spanning more than 60 years, O’Keeffe produced more than a thousand artworks, including large-scale flower paintings, images of towering skyscrapers and landscapes.
