Author Info:
Local author Kathleen Teahan is a retired teacher and former MA State Representative who is passionate about social justice. She has served on the Whitman School Committee and has also volunteered in classrooms, food programs, scholarship committees, and various outreach programs, including Habitat for Humanity. Her goal is to leave a better world for her grandchildren and children throughout the world. A portion of each sale of The Cookie Loved ‘Round the World goes to fight world hunger.

Featured Book Info:
Based on real events, The Cookie Loved ‘Round the World tells the tale of how, in the midst of the Great Depression, the chocolate chip cookie was created by Ruth Wakefield, the owner of the Toll House Restaurant in Whitman. The story follows the famous chocolate chip cookie from its invention to its designation as the Official State Cookie by the Massachusetts State Legislature in 1996 through Whitman’s Cookie Drop on New Year’s Eve in 2013.
