Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Hanson Public Library is a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to create awareness of library services, to raise funds for library programs and activities, and to purchase special objects not covered in the regular budget. In the past ten years the Friends have funded, purchased, or sponsored the following:

  • Statewide Summer Reading Program at the library
  • Babysitting courses for young adults
  • Performers and workshops
  • Multiple copies of books
  • TV and digital camera
  • Museum passes
  • Holiday Stroll

The membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st.

Tax deductible dues are as follows:

  • Individual – $5.00
  • Family – $10.00
  • Patron – $50.00

If interested, please come to a meeting and join our group. Our Book Sale, instead of being held once or twice a year, is now more conveniently set up on a continuing basis in one of the library study rooms. Now you can come in anytime during library hours to peruse the offerings, which are priced to sell! Remember, book donations are always welcome as long as they conform to the library’s donations condition policy. Questions? Call us at 781-293-2151.
