The Hanson Public Library invites you to participate in its early literacy program, 1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN!
Parents, grandparents, families, and caregivers are welcome to participate in the challenge of reading 1000 books to their infant or toddler before they enter kindergarten. Learn more about the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge!
Once you sign up, stop by the library to pick up your 1000 Books Before Kindergarten tote bag. You may keep track of the books you read in several ways:
- Download the free 1000 Books Before Kindergarten app for iPhone or Android
- Pick up paper reading logs in the library
- Download and print paper reading logs
Once your reading is under way, update your progress online or bring in your reading logs. Your child will receive a prize for every 100 book milestone and be awarded a certificate when they complete the program.
This program is made possible by the generous donations from family and friends in memory of Tom Moore, who was a life-long library advocate, avid reader, teacher, and promoter of literacy.
