Fight Food Waste

Food waste in March? That’s Madness! Did you know that the average Massachusetts resident wastes about 220lbs of  every year? This equals about 836lbs of methane, 183 meals, and $400 annually! Quick tips: start a worm bin with recycles totes, plan before shopping and never shop hungry, freeze leftovers before they go bad, shop your freezer (first in, first out), eat imperfect fruits and veggies (ugly is the new tasty), and compost scraps to feed soil life.

Every day this March, visit Green Hanson’s Facebook page for tips on how to fight food waste. You can also check out a book below for more information on sustainable cooking and living.
