November 6th, 2011 is the date for this year’s event. And it is an event ! There are running races for adults and kids, and also a race for walkers. There are activities for the kids and plenty of wonderful raffles to try your luck.
This is an annual fundraiser in memory of John P. Tobin who was a frequent patron of the Hanson Library. To date, proceeds raised from donations and the races have been used to purchase 420 children’s books as well as an Early Literacy Station, which is a computer dedicated to inspiring every child to become a lifelong learner. Included in this computer are interactive educational games and live ebooks. The present value of the John P. Tobin Collection is $9,700.

Adult entry fee is $20. Kids entry fee is $10.00. Pre-register BEFORE 10/22/2011, and you’ll get a t-shirt.
Walkers…your fees are the same, but you must register at the Hanson Library.A t-shirt will also be yours if you pre-register before 10/22/2011.
The hard work of the Tobin Family has been of great benefit to our younger patrons. The event is a fun filled day. If you are a runner or a walker, consider registering for the race and enjoying the day with us.
