Aw, Shucks: The Oysters Journey from Farm to Table

Celebrate the start of an active new year of events at the Hanson Public Library on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. as you learn about oyster farming. John & Stephanie Lowell, co-owners of East Dennis Oyster Farm located off Quivett Neck in East Dennis, have been farming oysters since 2003, and their farm contains as many as 200,000 oysters.  At the talk, get a peek into the journey of an oyster from farm to table and learn about the Lowells’ commitment to sustainable aquaculture. John & Stephanie are passionate about what they do, and customers taste their passion in the quality of their oysters.

Attendees will be treated to a raw bar to sample as they learn. After the discussion, there will be time for question and answers, so mark your calendars now for a great way to start the year.

Sponsored by the Hanson Public Library Foundation, this is a free event, but preregistration is required by December 30th. Please call 781-293-2151 or email info@hansonlibrary.org to register and reserve your oysters. We look forward to seeing you there and having you slurp on some delicious oysters!
