There are only 10 spots remaining for this engaging workshop for kids age 6-10…
The Hanson Public Library Foundation presents a children’s workshop with Kate Sullivan, author of the children’s book On Linden Square on Friday, February 21st, from 10:00-11:30 AM.
On Linden Square tells the story of Stella Mae Culpepper in her city neighborhood, Linden Square. The story begins on the first day of winter vacation and Stella Mae is bored, until a storm comes. Not just any storm but a big, wonderful winter storm. It’s a blizzard! And when the snow finally stops and Stella Mae ventures outside to play, something quite marvelous happens on Linden Square.
Come and join us as we read On Linden Square and talk about the characters in Stella’s city neighborhood — an interesting bunch of musicians, dancers, and snowball throwers! We’ll find out who they are, what they do. (Stella might even show you how to play the musical saw!)Then we’ll talk about you and your neighborhood. Where do you live? And who lives near you? And finally, it’ll be your turn to write and illustrate! We’ll talk about how a picture book is created. Bring your favorite pencil and be ready to write and draw. This could be the beginning of YOUR book! The event is recommended for children ages 6-10.
The workshop is free but preregistration is necessary as the workshop is limited to 30 aspiring writer/illustrators. Please call 781-293-2151 or email info@hansonlibrary.org to register.
